Untitled-2

Here’s an admission,  in terms of the vastness of the world , merged with character building Steven Erickson’s Malazan Book of Fallen are absolutely the best that I have read.

ARC BOOK REVIEW – The Hidden Face (Fifth Unmasking #1) , by S.C. Flynn

Duplicate-State

So … Disclaimer , I was one of the few lucky individuals who were chosen to be given an opportunity to read and review this book by the author himself, But having had that opportunity has in no way influenced any part of this review . BOOK REVIEW!! House OF Chains (Malazan Book of Fallen #4), by Stephen Erikson

bANNER

Going into this book I expected a few things – a difficult to understand beginning , which later turned into a wonderful narration and finally culminated in a major convergence that really left you satisfied. In regards to those expectations at least, Erickson delivered… for most part.

Book Quotes:

“Wise words are like arrows flung at your forehead. What do you do? Why, you duck of course.”
Steven Erikson, House of Chains

UPDATE!

Just wanted to let people know If they were wondering about my lack of post or interaction on the Blogosphere .

I have been really busy with work and studies (yes I’m still studying despite being a Doctor , since I’m still not a post graduate and ME WANT!) and to add to that I’ve also been diagnosed to have migraine , for those who don’t know about it ,it means I have like intense headaches once-three times a week and sometimes these headaches make me vomit and sometimes strong light or sound makes it worse.

Basically I am unable to find much of a reading time . So much so that I have been limited to reading only on Sundays , it’s presently me reading 100 or so pages on a single day in the week . I’m still managing to read some comics , but that’s easy since it takes around 15-20 minute for me to read a comic .

This lack of reading time and spare time in general has made keeping up with blogging or doing much of anything apart from working and studying really hard for me . Initially I did have plans to post reviews for books I hadn’t posted before or for Graphic novels and comics but again there simply isn’t much time to spare. Bottomline I don’t expect many post from myself in the coming months and while I’ll still be glancing around in the blog-verse and reading a few blog posts here and there , I don’t expect myself to be as active as before .So forgive me for the lack of activity and hope to see your lovely posts and hopefully things will get better for myself

BOOK REVIEW!! Dark Matter , by Blake Crouch .

I have a rule to always try a different genre book right after having read a fantasy book , So soon after finishing The Dark Tower , I got my hands on this book and having heard so many good things about this book , I was truly drowned in the tides of hype of this book and started reading this with a lot of anticipation and a bit of doubt …

Book Quotes:

“Until everything topples, we have no idea what we actually have, how precariously and perfectly it all hangs together.”
Blake Crouch, Dark Matter

SHORT STORY REVIEW !! Restoration of Faith (Dresden Files origin short story) , by Jim Butcher

dresden-files-banner2

So it’s the first short story that Jim Butcher wrote in the Dresden Files saga , this was the story that Jim wrote to prove to his teacher that her suggestion about Jim writing a Modern Fantasy was a stupid idea , fortunately for him , She approved this story for a book series and now Dresden Files is one of the finest Modern Fantasy out there.

Book Review – The Dark Tower (Dark Tower series , book #7 ) : by Stephen King

If you have read my past reviews of the series you will find that my views on the series have taken a lot of turns from being dismayed by how bad it was in the first book of the series to becoming a storytelling masterpiece in the next 3 books and then just taking a nose dive into the dull story garbage graveyard . Going into this book , I was very much dreading what might be in store for me , I ‘m glad to say however I have come out of this reasonably happy.

BOOK REVIEW! Song of Sussanah (The Dark Tower book #6) , by Stephen King

c60d54cc-7154-4359-ab9f-0ef22deb6240The Dark Tower books have so far been quite an experience , starting off as an incomprehensive snooze-fest in the first book , it caught pace and become a stunning piece of fiction in the next two books, but the 2 books that followed The wastelands were really really dull and felt like a filler episode in the adventure towards the mystical tower. But I have a policy , I never quit reading , even if a book is bad and so here I am with the penultimate book of the Dark Tower series.

My Choice This Week :

For this week , My choice is , as mentioned above – The Fifth installment in the highly acclaimed and soon to be made into a movie – Dark Tower book 5 : Wolves of Calla .

So far , I have barely reached 10 % of the book and my progress has been slow due to my other commitments , and unlike the usual trend so far this year , I sadly don’t expect to post a review for this book this week . That said I hadn’t done a Teaser Tuesday for a while so here it is

Teaser Of the Week :

4978“Beyond the far end of the table was a screen showing Arthur Eld, Sword held high, riding through a swamp with three of his knight-gunslingers behind him. Around his neck was Saita, the great snake, which presumably he had just slain. Another successful quest! Do ya fine! Men and their quests! Bah! What was slaying a magical snake to her? She had a chap in her belly, and the chap was hungry”
